Back at My Desk: Reflections and Intentions for 2025

After a wonderful Christmas break, I find myself back at my desk, reflecting on the mix of emotions this time of year brings: joy, love, anticipation, and contentment ~ but also stress, guilt, and overwhelm.

The joy of watching my children light up on Christmas morning, the magic of the big day, and the deep love and connection of sharing it all with family fills me with gratitude. Yet, as the decorations come down and the new year begins, I’ve been contemplating what this next chapter holds ~ not just as a parent, but as a person.

My ambition remains to grow my business, meet inspiring clients, and continue my personal journey of learning and growth. But in reflecting on where I started and where I am now, I’ve realised something is missing.

In focusing so much energy on serving my clients and building my business, I’ve neglected my own emotional wellness. The tools and strategies I share with others ~ the ones I know bring lasting peace, balance, and compassion ~ haven’t been getting the attention they deserve in my own life.

I’ve walked the path so many parents have: battling guilt, silencing the relentless inner critic, and managing the overwhelm of juggling everything. I’ve learned how to find peace amidst the chaos, but I haven’t prioritised those lessons for myself lately, and it’s taken a toll.

My Pledge for 2025

This year, I’m committed to:

  • Listening to my mind and body and honouring their needs.

  • Carving out time each week to pause, reflect, and rebalance.

  • Paying attention to how I feel daily and responding with care.

  • Giving myself the compassion I encourage others to embrace.

  • Scheduling self-care ~ not just as an afterthought, but as a priority.

As a parent running a business, I know how hard it can be to feel like you’re keeping up, constantly on the treadmill of life. But emotional wellness isn’t optional ... it’s ESSENTIAL.

My Message to You …

“Never underestimate the importance of nurturing your emotional wellness. Pay attention to what your mind and body are telling you. Schedule time for self-care - it is ESSENTIAL. Cultivate compassion for yourself, especially when things feel tough.”

You can’t pour from an empty cup, but when you prioritise your well-being, you give your best to yourself and those around you.

Here’s to a year of balance, clarity, and compassion ~ for you, for me, for all of us.
